Reggae album from Amy Winehouse?

Reports being circulated on the Internet have indicated that A posthumous album by Amy Winehouse is likely to be reggae inspired.
This marks a sharp move away from the jazz influence of her two albums Frank and Back to Black.
Britain's The Independent newpaper reports that music industry insiders have also hinted the the soon-to-be-released project may prove to be Winehouse's most autobiographical work.

the article notes that her record company remains tight-lipped over the album's contents but, quotes Winehouse's biographer, as saying many of the new songs have a reggae feel, inspired by the time she spent in St Lucia last year. "In what we can tell from the third album, I think she had been quite influenced by reggae," said Chas Newkey-Burden, who wrote Amy Winehouse: The Biography in 2009, is quoted as saying.

Newkey-Burden also reportedly states, "I think Amy would have been quite keen for a slightly indulgent third album. It might have been her way of showing the world what she was really like."

Winehouse spent time in Jamaica and the Jon Baker-run Geejam recording studion and hotel in Portland following her time in St Lucia. During her nearly three-week stay at the boutique hotel, popular with such music acts such as No Doubt, Winehouse is said to have also recorded music.

The Independent also quotes Winehouse's publicist Chris Goodman, who the newspaper said confirmed that there was a lot of material available. "She wrote all the time," he said. "If it's for a new album, it's difficult to say. I remember sitting down last Christmas and management were talking to me about the new songs and people were excited. [The music] wasn't a completely new direction, however. The tracks were said to have a 'soul sound'. The songs were also very autobiographical. That's the way she always wrote."

Upon hearing of her death Geejam's Baker noted, "the legacy of her relatively short recording career will remain a source of inspiration for other talented recording artists, as well as future generations of fans. She will certainly not be forgotten."
