Flava Squad Entertainment recently launched HYPE, one of the most anticipated stage shows of the summer, featuring some of the biggest artistes in the local industry.
The five-year-old stage show will be held at Independence Park in Black River, St Elizabeth, and promises to be a memorable one with the prolific Sizzla Kalonji as the headliner.
THE STAR arrived at the launch minutes after 7 p.m. during the early juggling of DJ Hotta Ball.
Ewan McRae, the promoter of the event, said he has endured numerous challenges to put on the show each year with little sponsorship, however, the love for music and the desire to give back to the industry motivates him. "The biggest challenge is to get corporate sponsors to come on board each year, but this show contributes to charity therefore it's for a good purpose so I will continue until everything is in place," he later told THE STAR.
The promoter said that this year's staging will be professional and security will be of paramount importance. He outlined that steps are being put in place to have a clean show, incident free along with effective parking innovations.
The theme for HYPE this year will be "Celebrate your Independence in HYPE" as the exact day of the event is National Independence day August 6, 2011.
