Young, vibrant and sultry Tabia Matthews has captured audiences at home and abroad.
In 2008, Vincentian artist, Tabia collaborated with Luta to produce her debut hit “FEELING IT”.
Furthermore, she participated in a project that took her name beyond St. Vincent & The Grenadines through the rest of the Caribbean region and beyond. She teamed up with Courtney “Curty” Louis, a St. Lucian producer who wrote and co-produced the track “Boom Boom Boom”. This hit was later turned into an internationally acclaimed music video in a remix featuring Nathy Boss, a renowned artist from Paris. Increasing demands for her music video by television networks such as MTV's Caribbean station, Tempo and RETV, and commendable reviews, speak of greater and greater possibilities for the young Vincentian.
Although she has been in the spotlight for a short time, Tabia is already seeing the fruits of her labour. This self-driven artist has made such an impact on the music industry, that in 2009, she won the nomination of Best New Female Soca Artist in the International Soca Awards with her debut track "Feelin It". In 2010, apart from the 3 awards that she won in the Underground Music Awards in Bermuda, she was also awarded with “Best Music Video” for “Boom Boom Boom remix”, at the National Entertainment Awards in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Not a bad feature for someone who is fairly new to the music business.
When asked about her influences, she highlights some artists who she wishes to pattern in terms of the energy, life, originality and freshness portrayed in their performances, as well as the passion and confidence that is displayed when entertaining any audience. She sees the sky is the limit and she aims to continue to be the best in art form or wherever her talent would take her. Tabia, is well on her way to a seat among the stars.
