Stephen Marley to release follow-up of Grammy winning album
Following what was a historic eighth Grammy triumph for Reggae superstar, Stephen Marley, the internationally acclaimed singer and songwriter now seeks to build off that momentum with a follow-up to his most recent award-winning album.
After winning Best Reggae Album at this year’s Grammy Awards for his third studio album, Revelation Part 1: The Root of Life, Marley recently announced that there will be a second edition to the compilation via a press release issued by his Ghetto Youths International label.
The new album, entitled Revelation Part 2: The Fruit of Life will be unveiled via Universal Records / Ghetto Youths International and, according to Marley will create ‘an eclectic feel.’ Marley ventured down a similar path following his Grammy-winning debut solo album, Mind Control in 2007 as he unleashed an acoustic version of the compilation, which copped similar accolades.
Revelation Part 1: The Root of Life featured several mainstream smash hits such as Tight Ship (featuring Damian ‘Jr. Gong’ Marley), Made in Africa (featuring Wale) and No Cigarette Smoking (featuring Melanie Fiona).
Meanwhile, Marley will be going on tour this summer as he prepares for the European leg of his Stephen Marley Revelation Part 2 tour. The nine week long venture will see Marley travel France, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Spain, Austria, Poland and Italy to name a few places. The tour will commence in Rotterdam, Netherlands on May 16 and conclude in Perugia, Italy on July 14.
