The same result has played out once again for prominent Dancehall superstar, Vybz Kartel in his ongoing murder case.
The incarcerated Portmore Empire leader was once again remanded when he appeared in the Supreme Court in Kingston on Friday in relation to the Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams murder trial. The Dancehall entertainer, who has been in custody since late September of last year, stands accused of murder, perverting the course of justice and conspiring to pervert the course of justice in the case.
Kartel’s Portmore Empire protégé, Shawn Storm as well as his designer, Calvin ‘Moonie’ Haye, Andre St. John, Kahira Jones and Shane Williams are also accused of murder in the Williams case.
All five men are expected to return to court on April 27.
Meanwhile, Justice Majorie Cole Smith has ordered the Crown to release electronic recordings implicating Kartel in the Williams murder case to the deejay’s defense team.
Kartel’s lawyer Valerie Neita-Robertson stated that she has not received a copy of the audio and video recordings from the prosecution, thus being unable to make a bail application on the artiste’s behalf.
Vybz Kartel and his co-accused are alleged to have participated in the beating death of Williams that took place at a residence in Havendale, St. Andrew last August.
